Bringing animation to life on another level...

2.

I'm always looking for new ways to bring characters to life. Recently, I've been working on a flash animation in my spare time and I've fallen in love with the character. Seemed easy enough to create him in 3D.
Here he is:

You can watch my red bird animation here.

My new animation will feature a different bird. This time, instead of starting on the computer, I started by trying to fashion him out of old sweaters. (You'll recognize the sweater from my previous post.) I think he'd look better in blue, but here he is:

I made his eyes out of felt, and his legs and hair out of yarn. I think it's pretty apparent that I still don't know what I'm doing. But this is more fun than you'll know.

I'm still searching for the perfect stuffing. Right now I'm using this bag of scrap fabric I bought at the store. I think cotton would be better. I'm considering buying a pillow just to use it's insides. We shall see what happens next time.

P.S. I couldn't resist getting him in vector:

1.
My first attempt was to craft an old, favorite, and not so wearable sweater into a lovable little creature. I don't know how lovable he is...you be the judge.

Well, Tela likes him at least.
